A Networking Group Focused on Civic Engagement

It’s also the focus of BostonNow, an initiative enacted by Kristin Phelan and Devin Cole.  The goal is to help the city realize and fulfill its full potential – in essence, to create a better Boston – by getting influencers across all disciplines in one room and letting them have at it.

BostInno

Boston is a city of made up extremely loyal, dedicated, opinionated and all around awesome people. More often than not, those dedicated to moving this city forward, regardless of the reason, are aligned on a unified front – progress. Kristin Phelan and her good friend/former colleague, Devin Cole, knew Boston lacked a platform for young people to discuss how collectively they can better connect the public and private sectors to make awesome things happen.

And….two weeks later, they did just that. BostonNow was formed in December of 2013 and in less than 6 months, quickly became a known voice throughout the city. Those looking to work in partnership with city and state governments to bring about positive change for the area starting approaching BostonNow to find out how.

Every month, Kristin & Devin bring together a group of influencers across various industries to engage in a timely conversation of varying topics over pizza & beer. During the first year, they were joined by speakers such as Governor Charlie Baker, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone,  City of Boston Chief of Staff:Dan Koh, MassDOT CEO: Secretary Richard Davey, Karmaloop CEO: Greg Selkoe, Congressman Joseph Kennedy, Colliers Chairman & Founder of the Influential ‘Breakfast Group’: Kevin Phelan, Real Estate Developer, Don Chiofar & much more.
